MetaCarta provide Situational Awareness for DHS During Presidential Inauguration

MetaCarta have provided a location-based situational awareness pilot solution for the Department of Homeland Security National Operation Center (NOC).

February 06 2009

The solution was used during the recent Presidential Inauguration to combine information from open news sources and DHS intelligence on a map so that watch standers could visualize what was happening in specific geographic areas in Washington, DC during inaugural events.

During crisis situations, "on-the-ground" information comes from a variety of sources such as news sources, citizen blogs, SMS-Text, email, and various government organizations and must be combined to provide a complete picture about a particular location. Information is shared at all levels through the Homeland Security Information Network (HSIN) and helps DHS officials coordinate the appropriate response for a particular incident..

Eptisa TI offers solutions with MetaCarta technology to be used on crisis situations where geo-enable information is really useful to give a right response.
